Pin Pointers

A Pin Pointer is a very handy tool to have when metal detecting. Pin Pointers are a small, lightweight hand held metal detector that helps you find your target quicker and easier. They are very simple to use, typically they have one button to turn on and off and can be stored in your finds pouch or can be attached to your belt with a holster.

Traditionally, when you are trying to locate your target in the ground, you scoop out a bit of dirt, wave it over the search coil of your metal detector and you repeat this over and over until you find what you are looking for. This can be quite time consuming, which is not what you want when you want to keep finding more targets out in the field.

Owning a pin pointer can dramatically speed up the process of locating your target in the ground. When you use a pin pointer, you firstly locate your target with your metal detector. Once you know where it is and have cut your plug, you poke the dirt with your pin pointer. When your pin pointer gets close to your target, usually within a couple of inches, it will start to beep and or vibrate, letting you know that you are nearing your target.

The closer your pin pointer gets to your target the louder it gets, until you are right on top of the find. This is a much faster way to locate where your target is in the hole. Being able to get your target out of the ground faster, means you spend less time digging and more time metal detecting.
